Weight loss tips – 7 organic fat burning foods & products

Weight loss tips – Help Burn Fat Naturally

As part of our new weight loss tips series, we take a look at some fantastic, easy to buy, organic fat burning foods & products that should help burn body fat naturally.

Excessive weight gain has been shown to lead to a number of chronic conditions, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease, while also having a large (and negative) impact on both cognitive decline and mental health.

Taking this into consideration, fat loss can contribute to huge improvements in mental and physical health, while also increasing confidence and self-esteem.

7 Organic fat burning foods & products that will help you burn fat

Now while most of us know that a healthy diet and solid exercise regime is integral to weight loss, it certainly isn’t always easy – and as a result, sometimes a little boost can make all the difference.

So with this in mind, we take a look at 7 organic products that can help you burn fat and aid in your weight loss journey with some great natural weight loss tips….

1. Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)

First on our list of fat burning foods and products is conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a type of polyunsaturated fatty acid found naturally occurring in red meat, dairy and eggs.

Now you might be wondering why in the world anyone would recommend consuming a type of fat to enhance fat loss – but just hear me out for a second.

You see, CLA differs significantly from regular fatty acids at a chemical level, meaning that they interact differently within the body at a cellular level.

And this is actually where the fat loss potential of CLA comes into play.

Breakdown and metabolism of fat molecules

After consumption, CLA has been shown to cause large increases in the breakdown and metabolism of fat molecules for energy. In the short term, this means that more of the energy you use to undertake the body’s many physiological processes comes from fat.

And in the long term, this means more fat specific weight loss.

In fact, the daily supplementation of CLA over 12 weeks has been shown to large reductions in fat mass, even without an increase in exercise and change in diet.

2. Green Tea

Green tea is one of the most commonly consumed organic supplements on the planet, where it has been shown to enhance health through a number of different mechanisms.

But why is it on our list of fat burning foods? Amazingly, in many weight loss tips, it has also been shown to enhance fat loss.

You see, the consumption of green tea has been shown to cause large increases in resting energy expenditure (meaning you burn more energy doing nothing) and in fat metabolism (meaning more of the energy you burn comes from fats).

Through these two key interactions, over time, green tea can lead to significantly enhanced fat loss.

One of our favorite organic green teas is Teapigs green tea with mint tea bags. Not only are they full to the brim with healthy compounds, i think they are also one of the tastiest teas on the planet.

3. Probiotic Supplements

Probiotics are a unique type of supplement that contain living, healthy, bacteria – where by consuming them, they colonize your digestive system with these healthy bacteria (and improving the state of your digestive system as a result).

Interestingly, research has shown that the profiles of digestive bacteria between overweight and obese individuals are substantially different to those individuals who fall within healthy weight ranges.

Bad bacteria

More specifically, overweight individuals have more ‘bad bacteria’, and less ‘good bacteria’ than their healthier counterparts.

These specific ‘bad’ bacteria have been shown to enhance the amount of fat you absorb from the food that you eat, which can lead to an increased energy intake and weight gain.

But by improving the ratios of bacteria within your digestive system through the supplementation of probiotics, you can reduce your absorption of dietary fat – leading to a lower daily energy intake and faster fat loss.

4. Coconut Oil

Next on our list of fat burning foods is Coconut oil, containing a unique type of fat that has been suggested to impact health in a big way – while also enhancing fat loss.

You see, while the fat component of most foods is comprised of long chain fatty acids (LCFAs), coconut oil is full to the brim with medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs).

MCFAs

MCFAs are quite interesting, because after consumption they are quickly broken down and absorbed into the body, and then transported immediately to the liver.

This process has been shown to cause and acute increase in metabolic rate, ultimately meaning that the body is burning more energy than it normally would to maintain regular function.

Additionally, the consumption of MCFAs has also been shown to reduce hunger signals throughout the day.

From a practical perspective, this means that by consuming coconut oil (or even replacing your existing butters and oils with coconut oil) you are likely to burn more energy and consume less food throughout the day – which will enhance fat loss in big way.

You can find some great coconut oils here, including one with zero coconut flavour and odour if you prefer. We recommend Biona Organic Raw Virgin Coconut Oil if you are after a high quality, affordable, coconut oil.

5. Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

Organic apple cider vinegar is one of our fave fat burning foods, a fermented liquid created from apples (as if the name didn’t give it away), which contains unique strands of bacteria that are created during its fermentation processes.

Interestingly, due to a combination of its acidic qualities and the bacterium that it contains, apple cider vinegar has been shown to have an array of health benefits – including the enhancement weight loss.

You see, apple cider vinegar has been shown to improve the body’s ability to use fats for energy, while also improving its sensitivity to the hormone insulin – the result of which means that it enhances the body’s ability to breakdown and use fats for energy.

As a result, consuming apple cider vinegar regularly is highly likely to enhance fat loss over time.

A very popular apple cider vinegar is this option by Biona Organic.

6. Prebiotic Supplements

Prebiotics are a type of non-digestible fiber that pass through the digestive system almost entirely untouched by the human body – until they are fermented by the good bacteria found within the gut.

During this fermentation process, a vast number of compounds are produced, some of which have been shown to cause large improvements in the health of the digestive system, while also increasing the health and function of the good bacteria within the gastrointestinal tract.

By increasing the state of the digestive bacteria, prebiotics can reduce energy absorption, limit hunger cravings, and improve hormone management, making them an excellent addition to the diet to boost fat loss.

7. Chromium

Chromium is a type of mineral found within many of the foods we eat (with specific emphasis on green vegetables) that plays several key roles within the human body – one of which related directly to energy management, in which it helps regulate the body’s blood sugar and insulin levels.

As a result, the consumption of chromium has been shown to enhance insulin sensitivity and reduce hunger signals throughout the days duration – both of which can have a significant impact on fat loss over time.

For those of you interested in using chromium to enhance your weight loss journey, we strongly recommend you take in the form of a quality multivitamin, which covers all your key nutrients.

Our favourite is Together WholeVits Multivitamin and Mineral, which provides a whopping 60ng per serving.
